Portfolio review: core funds holding up well

It has been a tough first quarter for investors, as you can see from the performance table reproduced below (link in the next paragraph). Equity markets have generally performed badly after a bright start to the year, with the world and US markets producing a negative return of around 6% (and the UK market somewhat more). Bond prices meanwhile have not done much to compensate, providing only limited diversification benefits.
